Abstract
Spremanje usitnjene kukuruzne silaže u bale omotane plastičnom folijom relativno je nova tehnika spremanja silaže, a s obzirom na brojne prednosti koje nudi u odnosu na tradicionalne načine, ima potencijala steći globalnu popularnost i u velikoj mjeri zamijeniti tehnike spremanja u silose. Najveća prednost primjene ove metode spremanja silaže je u smanjenim gubitcima zahvaljujući uspostavljanju kontroliranih uvjeta za procese fermentacije u odnosu na klasične metode pohrane u silose. Primjena ovog postupka podrazumijeva pojedinačno siliranje manjih količina biljne mase čime se postiže fleksibilnost kada su u pitanju vremenski uvjeti i ne zahtijeva nikakve posebne uvjete za skladištenje. Navedena tehnika već se dosta primjenjuje u zemljama zapadne Europe, dok se u Republici Hrvatskoj još uopće ne primjenjuje. Mogući uzrok tome su visoki financijski izdatci u vidu nabave potrebnih strojeva u samom početku, međutim, dugoročna isplativost koja se očituje u povećanoj količini i kvaliteti finalnih proizvoda je značajno veća od potrebnih ulaganja.
Abstract (english)
Storing chopped corn silage in bales wrapped with plastic film is a relatively new silage storage technique that offers many advantages over the traditional methods. According to that, it has the potential to gain global popularity and largely replace silo storage techniques. Compared to classical methods of storage in silos, the biggest advantage of applying this method is in reduced losses due to the establishment of controlled conditions for fermentation processes. The application of this method implies individual ensiling of small amounts of plant mass, which achieves flexibility when it comes to weather conditions and does not require any special storage conditions. This technique is already widely used in Western European countries, while in the Republic of Croatia it is not used at all. A possible reason for this is the high financial costs in the form of purchasing the necessary machinery in the beginning. However, the long-term profitability, which is manifested in the increased quantity and quality of final products, is significantly higher than the required investment.
