Abstract
Kukuruz (Zea mays L.) danas je uz pšenicu i rižu, jedna od tri vodeće poljoprivredne kulture u Svijetu. U nas je prema zasijanim površinama i ukupnoj proizvodnji i najvažnija kultura. Svi dijelovi biljke kukuruza mogu se iskoristiti. Zrno se koristi za hranidbu stoke, u prehrani ljudi i industriji, a cijela stabljika s listovima i klipom za silažu ili hranidbu domaćih životinja u zelenom stanju. Isti taj silažni ostatak predstavlja vrlo korisnu lignoceluloznu biomasu koja može biti iskoristiva kao energent za proizvodnju biogoriva. Zrno, oklasak, komušina, stabljika i list kukuruza predstavljaju korisnu i energetski iskoristivu biomasu dobre gorive vrijednosti. U radu su obuhvaćena dva hibrida kukuruza Drava 404 i Pajdaš – FAO 490. Za svaki hibrid određen je kemijski sastav odnosno nutritivna svojstva te energetska svojstva zrna, oklaska, stabljike, komušine i lista.

Corn (Zea mays L.) today is, with wheat and rice, one of the three leading crops in the world. In Croatia corn is, by total production, the most important crop. All parts of the corn plant can be used. The corn grain is used for animal feeding, human consumption and industry and the entire stem with leaves and cobs for silage or feed domestic animals in the green state. The same silage rest is very useful lignocellulosic biomass, which can be usable as an energy source for the production of biofuels. Grain, cobs, stalks, husk and leaves of corn are a useful and usable energy biomass fuel with a good fuel value. This research examined two corn hybrids Drava 404 and Pajdaš – FAO 490. Samples were analysed by the chemical (nutritional) characteristics and energy characteristics of grain, cobs, stalks, husk and leaves.
