Abstract
Tradicionalni kultivar 'Varaždinski kupus' od velikog je gospodarskog i kulturnog značaja. Njegovim sjemenarstvom bavi se još samo nekoliko obiteljskih poljoprivrednih gospodarstava, uglavnom za vlastite potrebe. Komercijalno dostupno sjeme je stranog porijekla i upitne srodnosti. Srodnost je proučavana pomoću AFLP molekularnih markera za čije proučavanje su bile korištene četiri polimorfne početnice. Proučavano je pet populacija: Varaždinski kupus iz Nacionalne banke biljnih gena (Var), populacije Varaždinskog kupusa obiteljskih gospodarstava OPG Hladika (Hld), OPG Plantić (Pln), OPG Cafuk (Caf) i komercijalno dostupno sjeme talijanske sjemenske kuće „Vita Bella“ (Vit). Detektirano je ukupno 203 markera od čega ih je 174 (86%) bilo polimorfnih. Analizom molekularne varijance utvrđena je signifikantna razlika između proučavanih populacija (ΦST:0.21282; p<0.001). Najveći udio fenotipske varijance opada na variranje unutar populacija (78.72%). Analizom međupopulacijskih udaljenosti utvrđena je signifikantna razlika između svih ispitivanih populacija (p<0,05%). Najveća udaljenost utvrđena je između populacija Vit i Pln (0,23), a najmanja udaljenost utvrđena je između populacija Caf i Pln (0,09). Analizom glavnih koordinata utvrđeno je grupiranje individua proučavanih populacija Varaždinskog kupusa u dvije glavne skupine. Jednu skupinu čine individue populacija Vit, a drugu populacije Var, Hld, Pln i Caf. Rezultati istražvanja važan su doprinos u poznavanju genetske varijabilnosti populacija Varaždinskog kupusa koji se mogu iskoristiti za zasnivanje organiziranog sjemenarstva Varaždinskog kupusa u Republici Hrvatskoj.

Traditional landrace of ‘Varaţdinski’ cabbage is of a great cultural and economical meaning. There are only few family farms that are producing its seed, mainly for personal use. Commercially available seed is produced in foreign countries and has questionable origin. Genetic similarity is analyzed by AFLP molecular markers with four polymorphic primers. Five populations have been studied: ‘Varaždinski’ cabbage from National bank of plant genes (Var), populations of ‘Varaždinski’ cabbage from family farms OPG Hladika (Hld), OPG Plantić (Pln), OPG Cafuk (Caf) and commercially available seed from Italian seed production company ‘Vita Bella’. It has been detected in total of 203 markers and 174 (86%) were polymorphic. By analysis of molecular variance we have established significant difference between studied populations (ΦST:0.21282; p<0.001). Most of the phenotypic variance belongs to variance between populations (78.72%). Analysis of distance between populations determined significant differences among analyzed populations (p<0,05%). Biggest distance was found between populations Vit and Pln (0,23), and the smallest was between populations Caf and Pln (0,09). Principal Coordinate Analysis defined clear vertical separation of two main groups. Population Vit forms first group and populations Var, Hld, Pln and Caf form the other group. The results of this research make a great contribution for gene variability of ‘Varaždinski’ cabbage and can be used for creating commercial seed production of ‘Varaždinski’ cabbage in Republic of Croatia.
