In recent decades, in the traditionally agricultural area of Pokupsko municipality many building plots have occurred in the landslide-prone areas. In order to protect people and property, publicly available data, geomorphological, pedological and climatic parameters were collected for the purpose of remediation/consolidation of a potential landslide at the micro location Auguštanovec, in the area of Vukomeričke gorice, Pokupsko municipality. In the absence of standardised landslide databases or remediation methods, available data were used for a multi-criteria analysis of terrain consolidation methods. Despite several hundred landslides being activated or reactivated annually in Croatia, there is no systematic data collection or processing, which makes it difficult to assess the situation and trends. By applying agrotechnical methods on a potential landslide for the purpose of terrain stabilization and reducing slope erosion, measures were proposed to modify the slope geometry in combination with greenery planting. Terracing and grass planting on levelled gentle slopes enables rainwater runoff, while the effect of increased mechanical stability of soils can be achieved by combining plants of various root depths which solidify the consolidation material. Agrotechnical remediation is economically and environmentally sounder compared to construction-based remediation, although the effects of implemented methods are not so easily measurable without a detailed remediation stability analysis.
