Abstract
Cilj ovog rada je ispitati mogućnost i opravdanost zaštite ličkog sira škripavca oznakom zemljopisnog podrijetla. Provedena su tri istraživanja s proizvođačima sira, s potrošačima te s predstavnicima obrazovnih i savjetodavnih institucija i lokalnog LAG-a. Istraživanja su pokazala da je polovica ispitanih proizvođača spremna na udruživanje u cilju zaštite ličkog sira škripavca oznakom zemljopisnog podrijetla, dok bi se čak 80% ispitanih bilo spremno držati pravila propisanih specifikacijom o proizvodnji koji bi bio donesen. U cilju zaštite, proizvođači imaju potporu za savjetima savjetodavne službe, fakulteta i Lokalne akcijske grupe Lika. Oko dvije trećine ispitanih potrošača smatra da je lički sir škripavac autohtoni proizvod, te pozitivno gledaju na zaštitu ličkog sira škripavca. Na temelju rezultata istraživanja dokazano je da postoji mogućnost i opravdanost zaštite ličkog sira škripavca oznakom zemljopisnog podrijetla.

The goal of this paper was to evaluate the possibility and justification for the protection of the Lika cheese Škripavac with the Protected Geographical Indication. Three studies were conducted with cheese manufacturers, consumers and representatives of education and extention institutions, as well as the local LAG. The studies showed that half of the examined manufacturers would definitely cooperate in order to protect the Lika cheese Škripavac with the Protected Geographical Indication, while 80% of the examinees would uphold to the policies regulated by the newly established manufacturing statutes. Considering the protection, manufacturers need support from the extension institution, the faculty and the Local action group Lika. Approximately two thirds of the examined consumers consider the Lika cheese Škripavac as an autochthonous product, and have a positive attitude towards the protection of the Lika cheese Škripavac. Based on the results of the research, it has been proven that there is a possibility and justification for the protection of the Lika cheese Škripavac with the Protected Geographical Indication.
