Abstract
Spajanja i preuzimanja kao strategija poslovanja omogućuju kompanijama postizanje ekonomije obujma, izlazak na nova tržišta, postizanje vertikalne integracije, a posljedično i povećanje tržišnog udjela i konkurentsku prednost. Navedena aktivnost vodi jačanju multinacionalnih kompanija i prevlasti na globalnom tržištu hrane. Cilj rada je istražiti spajanja i preuzimanja u agrobiznisu u Svijetu i Hrvatskoj te analizirati utjecaj navedenih aktivnosti na cjelokupan lanac hrane. Na primjeru svjetskih kompanija iz sektora piva, osnovnih potrošačkih dobara i sredstva za zaštitu bilja, primjenom studija slučaja rad prikazuje aktivnosti spajanja i preuzimanja. Analizom poslovnih slučajeva vidljivo je kako spajanja i preuzimanja utječu na bolje poslovne rezultate kompanija. U Hrvatskoj su aktivnosti spajanja i preuzimanja u agrobiznisu primjenjiva i ne zaostaju za međunarodnim procesima, no, naravno, riječ je o količinski i vrijednosno manjim poslovnim dogovorima.

Mergers and acquisitions as a business strategy enable companies achieving the economy of scale, entering new markets, accomplishing vertical integration and consequently increasing the market share and competitive advantage. Therefore, forward mentioned activities lead to rising of multinational companies and their dominance on global food market. The aim of this paper is researching mergers and acquisitions in agribusiness on the global and local level (specifically in Croatia) and analysing the impact of those activities on the entire food chain. On the sample of global companies in the beer sector, consumer staples and plant protection agents are presented the activities of mergers and acquisitions by applying case study method. By analysing the business cases, it is visible that activities of mergers and acquisitions resulted in preferable business outcomes. In Croatia, mergers and acquisitons are applicable and do not lag behind international processes, only involving business deals in lesser quantity and value.
