Today, the bell pepper, along with the tomato is one of the most cultivated species in the continental Croatia. Besides growing in the soil, it is spreading in the hydroponic cultivation. Growing in the hydroponic system ensures the conditions for unhindered growth which leads to earlier fruiting and higher yield. The use of biostimulants is one way to get the nutrients needed and which reduces stress and strengthen the plant. The study was conducted in a heated greenhouse of a Department of Vegetable Crops at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb. Three hybrids of bell pepper: ‘Menta’, ‘Irene’, ‘Kaloyan’ were tested. The sowing was on February 15th, and the planting on May 2nd. During the study there were regular measurements of temperature and relative air humidity. On the plants, measures of care were taken. Harvest lasted until August. After the planting, plants were treated with biostimulants ‘Bioplex’ and ‘EkoBooster’ every two weeks, while untreated plants were used as a control. During the harvest, the number and the weight of marketable fruits yield and share of non-marketable fruits was determined. Based on given results, it can be concluded that the use of growth enhancers had a positive effect on the number and weight of marketable fruits and yield. There was also an effect on the higher share of the non-marketable fruits. According to the achieved results the use of biostimulants in the hydroponic cultivation of bell pepper could be recommended.
