Abstract	Balet je plesna forma kojom se većinom bave profesionalni plesači te je kao takva postavljena na vrlo visoku razinu po pitanju elemenata, stila i vještine izvođenja plesnih koraka. Ples kao takav ima iza sebe dugu i bogatu povijest te je imao u nekim godinama veliko značenje za tadašnje društvo i tretirao se kao posebna vrsta umjetnosti. U ostalim razdobljima uživa također veliku popularnost te u samom 20. stoljeću, kada se rađaju mnogi vrhunski baleti današnjice, balet postaje jedna od omiljenih umjetnosti velikom dijelu svjetske populacije sve do danas. Sergej Prokofjev samo je jedan od skladatelja 20. stoljeća koji su poklonici ove veličanstvene vrste. Njegov baletni opus najbolje govori o tome da su jedne od najljepših i najkreativnijih melodija upravo stvorene na području baleta.
Abstract (english)	Ballet is a dance form which is most widely performed by professional dancers, therefore it is set on a very high level regarding elements, style and skills of performing dance moves. Dance has a long and rich history and in some years it had a big significance for the society at the time and it was treated as a special form of art. In other times it enjoys big popularity, especially in the 20th century when some of the best ballets of today are being born and ballet has become one of the favourite arts to the big part of world's population till the present day. Sergei Prokofiev is just one of the 20th century composers who are followers of this magnificent form. His ballet opus is the best example of the fact that some of the gratest and most creative melodies are created on the area of ballet.
