Abstract
Novac je simbol uspjeha i neuspjeha, motivacijsko sredstvo, osnova na kojoj počiva cijela monetarna ekonomija i suvremeno tržište. Novac omogućava protok robe i usluga te predstavlja općeprihvaćeno sredstvo razmjene. Osim što ima funkciju razmjene, ima i funkciju blaga, te funkciju prometnog sredstva, također se može promatrati i kao sredstvo pokazatelja vrijednosti. Osim pojma novca i njegovog povijesnog razvoja, u ovome radu biti će obuhvaćeni monetarni sustavi te monetarne institucije, kao i suvremeni novčani sustav i njegovo funkcioniranje. Obrađeno je i stvaranje međunarodnog monetarnog fonda i njegova uloga u monetarnoj politici danas. Nabrojani pojmovi i okolnosti njihovog nastanka u međusobnoj su korelaciji i vrlo su važni za razumijevanje današnje monetarne politike kao i svakodnevnog toka novca i kapitala, te uloge i moći koju novac ima u uvjetima suvremenog društva.
Abstract (english)
Money is a symbol of success and failure, a motivational tool, the basis on which the entire monetary economy and the modern market rest. Money enables the flow of goods and services and is a generally accepted means of exchange. In addition to having the function of exchange, it also has the function of treasure, and the function of a means of transport, it can also be viewed as a means of value indicators. In addition to the concept of money and its historical development, this paper will cover the monetary systems of that monetary institution, as well as the modern monetary system and its functioning. The creation of the international monetary fund and its role in monetary policy today are also discussed. The listed concepts and circumstances of their origin are mutually correlated and are very important for understanding today's monetary policy as well as the daily flow of money and capital, and the role and power that money has in the conditions of modern society.
