Abstract
Danas je nemoguće promatrati bilo kakve aspekte života mladih izvan utjecaja medija. Mediji sve više utječu na odgoj i obrazovanje te socijalizaciju djece i mladih. Mediji s jedne strane pružaju mladima obrazovno – informativne sadržaje, dok im s druge strane služe za bijeg od stvarnosti i zabavu. Zbog velike uloge koju mediji imaju u svakodnevnom Životu djece i mladih sve se više nameće potreba medijskog odgoja od najranije dobi. Medijska pismenost kao rezultat medijskog odgoja postala je jedna od najvažnijih oblika pismenosti u 21. stoljeću. Medijski odgoj u Hrvatskoj tek je u povojima. Naime, djeca o medijima uče u osnovnoj školi u sklopu nastave hrvatskoga jezika pri čemu mnogi nastavnici ističu da i njima samima nedostaje medijskih kompetencija.
Abstract (english)
Today it is impossible to consider any aspect of life of young people without considering the influence of media. The media also has big influence on children's and young generation education. The media on one hand provides educational and informative content for young generation, but the other hand they also use media for a escape from reality and entertainment. Today the media represents a tool of manipulation, creator of public opinion and the needs of the young generation. Media education in Croatia is still a relatively new concept. Children learn most of the media themselves in the home environment. The importance of the media in the maturation of children are shown and therest of the work.
