Abstract	Razvoj masovnih medija u posljednjih nekoliko godina imao je značajan utjecaj na sve aspekte društva pa tako i na one vezane uz odgoj i obrazovanje. Svrha ovog rada je prikazati kakvu su ulogu mediji imali u oblikovanju i reformi obrazovnog sustava te navesti potencijalne prednosti i nedostatke koji su se javili njihovom uporabom. Rad prikazuje neke od osnovnih temelja za nastanak prvih istraživanja o medijskom utjecaju te se kasnije nadovezuje na novija istraživanja o medijima, njihovoj primjeni, medijima unutar školstva te utjecaju koji mogu imati na djecu predškolske dobi. Nadalje, uspoređuje se tradicionalan oblik obrazovanja s novim multimedijskim gdje se posebice naglašava važnost medijske pismenosti. Pri uspoređivanju tradicionalnog obrazovanja i onog medijskog zaključit ćemo kako je za sada ipak najbolja njihova kombinacija, odnosno hibridni tip koji omogućava prilagodbu na promjene koje sa sobom donosi tehnološki napredak.
Abstract (english)	Development of mass media in last few years had significant impact on all aspects of society, as well as those connected to education. The purpose of this work is to show what type of role media had in forming and reforming of educational system as well as listing potential pros and cons that occurred with their use. The paper presents some of the bases for forming first researches about media influence which are later connected to newer researches about media, their usage, media in school systems and the influence they can have for children of preschool age. Later the traditional system of education is compared to newer multimedia one where we note the importance of media literacy. While comparing traditional education and the media one, we will conclude that for now the best form is the combined one, better called hybrid type, which allows adjustment to changes which are result of technological advancement.
