Abstract
Epigenetika proučava uzročne interakcije između gena i njihovih produkata koji dovode do nastanka fenotipa. Genom je programiran epigenomom. Epigenetski mehanizmi su metilacija DNA, modifikacija histona i RNA interferencija. Epigenetičke promjene su potrebne za normalan razvoj i zdravlje, no mogu biti odgovorne za mnoge bolesti. Epigenetičke preinake mogu nastati kao odgovor na poticaje iz okoliša, npr. prehrane.

Epigenetics studies interactions between genes and their products that lead to phenotype. Genom is programmed by epigenom. Epigenetic changes are important for a normal development and health but can be responsible for many diseases. Epigenetic changes can be produced as a response to different environmental stimulanses, i.e. food.
