Abstract
Popravak izrezivanjem nukleotida jedan je od najznačajnijih mehanizama popravka DNA, koji prepoznaje i popravlja različita oštećenja DNA molekule. Prisutan je kod eubakterija,arhebakterija i eukariota. U ovome radu opisana je evolucija samog mehanizma, uspoređeni su mehanizmi popravka kod prokariota i eukariota, te kako poremećaji u ovome mehanizmu mogu uzrokovati različite genetske poremećaje kao što su bolest kože Xeroderma pigmentosum,Cockayneov sindrom, itd.

Nucleotide excision repair is the most versatile mechanism of DNA repair, recognizing and dealing with numerous defects of DNA. It's found in organisms like eubacteria, archea andeukaryotes. In this review the evolution of nucleotide excision repair is described, mechanisms in prokaryotes and eukaryotes are compared and severe genetic disorders like Xeroderma pigmentosum, Cockayne syndrome caused by various defects in NER are determined.
