Abstract
Integumentni sustav člankonožaca sastoji se od čvrstog hitinsko-proteinskog egzoskeleta koji tijelu pruža potporu, zaštitu od mehaničkih ozljeda te sprječava ulazak patogena, no usprkos pozitivnim funkcionalnim svojstvima koje pruža, egzoskelet ograničava rast člankonožaca. Razdoblje kada člankonošci mogu rasti je za vrijeme presvlačenja kutikule, procesa koji je nazvan ekdisis.

Integumentary system of arthropods consists of chitinous exoskeleton that provides support, protection against mechanical damage and prevents the entry of pathogens,but despite the positive functional features provided, exoskeleton limits the growth of arthropods. The period when arthropods can grow is during process called ecdysis.
