Abstract
Alepski bor (Pinus halepensis Mill.) je crnogorična vrsta koja naseljava vrlo nepovoljna staništa i zbog toga je razvila različite prilagodbe koje joj omogućavaju život u takvim uvjetima. U ovome radu istraživani su omjeri površina žila, smolenica i mezofila u odnosu na ukupnu površinu prereza iglica kod prošlogodišnjih i ovogodišnjih iglica alepskog bora. Također je istraživana prisutnost škroba, celuloze i lignina u prerezima prošlogodišnjih i ovogodišnjih iglica. Udio žila i smolenica bio je veći kod prošlogodišnjih iglica, dok je udio mezofila bio veći kod ovogodišnjih iglica. Više škrobnih zrnaca je uočeno kod prošlogodišnjih iglica, dok razlike u prisutnosti lignina i celuloze nisu uočene. Ovakve varijacije u morfologiji iglica kroz vrijeme i prostor mogu se opisati kao plastičnost listova, čime se iglice prilagođavaju na varijacije u okolišnim čimbenicima.

Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis Mill.) is coniferous species that populates unfavorable habitats. Therefore, it developed a variety of adaptations to environmental conditions. In this work, the proportions of vascular bundles, resin ducts and mesophyll surfaces were compared to the total surface of the cross-section of previous and current year needles. The presence of starch, cellulose and lignin in the cross-section were also studied. The proportion of vascular bundles and resin ducts was higher in previous year needles, while the ratio of mesophyll was higher in current year needles. More starch grains were observed in previous year needles however, the difference in the presence of lignin and cellulose was not found. Such variations in needles morphology through time and space could be described as foliar plasticity, which allows needles to adapt to variations in environmental factors.
