Abstract
Posljednjih desetljeća sve su učestalija ekstremna hidrološka zbivanja, posebno velike poplave u Podunavskoj regiji. Cilj ovog rada je utvrditi kako su ekstremne poplave Dunava tijekom 2006. godine utjecale na strukturu i dinamiku fitoplanktonske zajednice Kopačkog jezera, najvećeg ali i najplićeg jezera poplavnog područja Kopačkog rita. Tijekom ekstremnog plavljenja Dunava u travnju biomasa fitoplanktona bila je izuzetno mala, a dominirale su dijatomeje, odnosno funkcionalne skupine fitoplanktona tolerantne na disturbancije uvjetovane plavljenjem. Nakon prestanka poplava, u rujnu je došlo do oporavka fitoplanktonske zajednice, ali bez karakterističnog cvjetanja cijanobakterija. Sukcesije fitoplanktonskih skupina ukazale su na visoki stupanj trofije Kopačkog jezera u usporedbi sa Sakadaškim jezerom koje je nakon ekstremnih poplava ostalo u stanju „čiste vode“. Sveukupno, u uvjetima ekstremnih poplava dolazi do velikih disturbancija nepovoljnih za razvoj fitoplanktona dok okolišni čimbenici pojedinog vodenog biotopa duž gradijenta rijeka-poplavno područje postaju presudni u uvjetima izolacije od dotoka poplavnih voda.
Abstract (english)
Extreme hydrological events have been more frequent in the last decades, especially large floods in the Danubian region. The aim of this thesis is to determine how the Danube's extreme floods affected phytoplankton composition and abundance in Kopačko Lake, the largest but also the most shallowest lake in the floodplain Kopački rit. During the extreme flooding of the Danube in April phytoplankton biomass was extremely small and dominated by Diatoms, also as functional groups of phytoplankton tolerant to flood-related disturbances. After the end of the flood in September, phytoplankton community was recovered, but there was no characteristic appearance of cyanobacterial bloom. Succession of the phytoplankton groups showed high trophy level of Kopačko Lake compared to the Sakadaš lake which, after extreme floods, remained in "clear water" state. Overall, under extreme flooding conditions, major disturbances are disadvantageous to the development of phytoplankton, while the environmental factors of a particular aquatic biotope along the river-flood gradient become crucial in the conditions of isolation from floodwater.
