Abstract
U suvremenom, globalnom poslovnom okruženju temeljenom na znanju, gdje ljudi, njihove potrebe, motivacija i zadovoljstvo postaju središtem pažnje upravljanja ljudskim potencijalima, organizacije svoju konkurentsku prednost mogu graditi samo na jednom resursu – svojim zaposlenicima, njihovim talentima, vještinama, znanju i motivaciji. Danas je ljudski kapital prepoznat kao glavni alat konkurentske sposobnosti i prednosti na globalnom tržištu. Ljudski potencijali (eng. Human Resources) su ukupno ljudsko znanje, vještine, sposobnosti, kreativne mogućnosti, motivacija i odanost zaposlenika neke organizacije, njihov angažman u izvršenju radnih obveza, njihova ukupna intelektualna ili psihička energija kojom organizacija može ostvarivati svoje ciljeve i razvoj poslovanja. Upravljanje ljudskim potencijalima (eng. Human Resources Management – HRM) čini niz međupovezanih aktivnosti i zadaća menadžmenta i organizacija usmjerenih na osiguravanje adekvatnog broja i strukture zaposlenih, njihovih znanja, vještina, interesa, motivacije i oblika ponašanja potrebnih za ostvarivanje aktualnih, razvojnih i strategijskih ciljeva organizacije (Bahtijarević, 1999:668) Upravljanje ljudskim potencijalima obuhvaća zapošljavanje, profesionalni razvoj, poticanje uspješnosti na radu, otkrivanje menadžerskih potencijala i informiranje u području ljudskih potencijala kako bi doprinijeli u razvoju pojedinih organizacija. Cilj upravljanja ljudskim potencijalima je izabrati kvalitetne ljude, motivirati ih, obrazovati i razvijati kako vi mogli ostvarivati visoke radne rezultate i pridonositi ostvarivanju organizacijskih ciljeva.
