Abstract	Trgovina je jedna od najstarijih gospodarskih grana čiji je razvoj usko vezan uz napredak tehnologije. Pod pojmom trgovine se smatra razmjena dobara i usluga na određenom mjestu, u određeno vrijeme i po dogovorenim uvjetima. Trgovina je vremenom utjecala na razvoj društva na način da uz sve uređeniji prostor i naprednije marketinške aktivnosti, ljudi postaju sve ovisniji o trgovanju i kupovini. Trgovine se reklamiraju na različite načine što doprinosi njihovoj prepoznatljivosti i čini ih privlačnijim kupcima. Trgovinske poslovne jedinice mijenjale su se kroz godine postojanja, ali i dalje su kupcima atraktivne i male specijalizirane trgovine i veliki trgovački centri. U manjim specijaliziranim trgovinama kupci pronalaze specifičnu robu koja je namijenjena baš njima, dok u trgovačkim centrima mogu naći asortiman proizvoda koji je namijenjen široj populaciji. Kako se trgovina mijenjala, osim proširenja asortimana i poboljšanja kvalitete proizvoda, mijenjaju se i taktike prodaje i educiranje osoblja prodavaonica. Budući da su i kupcima informacije sve dostupnije, tako je potrebno razvijati i vještine trgovaca da bi što bolje prezentirali proizvod i približili ga kupcu. Iako se velik dio trgovanja prebacuje na online prodaju, i dalje postoji veliki broj kupaca kojima je kupovanje u klasičnim trgovinama prvi izbor, što potvrđuje da će klasične trgovine još dugo vremena zauzimati značajno mjesto u svakodnevnom životu ljudi.
Abstract (english)	Trade is one of the eldest economic branches whose development associates with techology process. Trade includes exchange of goods and services at a specific place, at a specific time and under agreed terms. With time, trade had influenced development of society in a way that with more organized spaces and developed marketing activities, people became more dependent of trade and purchasing. Businesses are advertised in many different ways which contributes their recognizability and makes them more interesting to customers. Trade business units have changed with years of existence, but customers still find both small specialized stores and big shopping malls interesting. In smaller specialised stores customers are able to find specific items that are made for them, while in shopping malls they are able to find the product selection for bigger audience. As trade changed, product selection expanded and product quality improved, sales tactics and educating of staff improved as well. Since customers have more access to information, it is necessary to develop staff skills so they can present the product in a better way and make them more appealing for customers. Even though a big part of trade is going online, there is still a big part of customers that consider shopping in classic stores their first choice, which confirms that classic stores will be significant in people's lives for a long time.
