Abstract
Google je jedna od najbrže rastućih tvrtki u svijetu najpoznatija po svojoj tražilici koja u manje od sekunde pruža puno više informacija od bilo kojeg drugog medija. Misija Google tražilice je organizirati informacije u svijetu i učiniti ih univerzalno dostupnima i korisnima. Prednost za Google korisnike je ta što je pretraživanje toliko velikih i korisnih baza podataka besplatno, a prednost za Google je što stvara bazu potencijalnih klijenata za različite tržišne niše čiju su pažnju spremni platiti oglašivači – tvrtke ili pojedinci. Najznačajniji prihodi Googlea jesu upravo oni od oglašavanja. U listopadu 2018. Googleov tržišni udio na tržištu tražilica iznosio je 90,28% iz čega je razvidno da ova tvrtka nema veliku konkurentsku prijetnju. Tvrtka ima gotovo 99.000 zaposlenih, a prihodi svake godine rastu što ju je pozicioniralo na 4. mjesto najvrjednijih tvrtki na svijetu. U Indiji, Brazilu, Španjolskoj i Italiji preko 90% korisnika stolnih računala koristi upravo Google tražilicu. Pri tome treba uzeti u obzir da Indija ima preko 1,3 milijarde stanovnika što znači da samo iz tog dijela svijeta Google ostvaruje značajan promet.
Abstract (english)
Google is one of the fastest growing companies in the world best known for its search engine, which in less than a second provides much more information than any other media. The Google Search Engine mission is to organize information around the world and make them universally accessible and useful. The advantage for Google users is that the search for so many great and useful databases is free, and the advantage for Google is that it creates a potential customer base for different market niches whose attention is willing to pay advertisers - businesses or individuals. The most significant Google revenue is just those of advertising. In October 2018, Google's market share on the search engine market was 90.28%, making it clear that this company does not have a major competitive threat. The company has nearly 99,000 employees, and revenue grows every year and has positioned itself as the 4th most valuable company in the world. In India, Brazil, Spain and Italy, over 90% of desktop users use the Google search engine. It should be borne in mind that India has over 1.3 billion people, meaning that only from that part of the world Google has significant traffic.
