Abstract
The financial global crisis has affected the economic environment negatively in most areas since it started at the end of the 2008. There are many explanations about why the crisis started and different analyses started with data before the beggining. According to the teorists there cannot be only one thing that lead to the total catastrophi. Since it affected negatively the ecnomic market all around the world, in this paper it is going to be examined how did it affectd the foreign direct investments, especially in Croatia and Southeastern Europe countries. Foreign direct investments are on of the type of investments necessary for a country to streighten its economic abbilities and competitiveness; other types are also presented in the paper. There are different advantages and disadvantages about FDI, even though their purpose is to help countries economy – if the country does not have good predispositions, receiving foreing direct investment will only increase its dependence on investments coming from abroad. According to the done analyses, even FDI were affected negatively by the consequences of global financial crisis, which is shown on the tables and schemes in the paper.
