Abstract	Foreign direct investments are investments is a sort of an economic bust for a growing economy, it affects the economic, technological and social environment and the volume of trade more than any other type of capital. The foreign direct investments are crucial for planning and developing a countries economy. The global financial crisis has made a serious damage to developing countries, causing the downfall of FDI in economy; it mainly caused a huge decrease in global foreign direct investment flow, caused by economic instability, political uncertainty and geopolitical risks. Despite of all of that developing countries are tending to get more investments than other countries. This paper will try explaining and define the main effects of foreign direct investments with the focus on the European Union in the period of the global financial crisis. Mainly it will be focused to show the flow of the FDI in the countries that will be analyzed in the period of the global financial crisis. Also it will be shown the circular effect where direct investments lead to economic growth and economic growth leads to more and more FDI. This paper will show what each country has made to save her out of the abyss of the global financial crisis, which fiscal measures were taken to boost the economic growth and the inflow of FDI.
