Abstract
Tehnologije IEEE 802.11 koriste se u lokalnim mrežama za ostvarivanje prijenosnih brzina u rasponu od nekoliko desetaka, preko nekoliko stotina Mbit/s pa sve do nekoliko Gbit/s. Te se tehnologije sve više koriste i za realizaciju širokopojasnog pristupa telekomunikacijskim mrežama i uslugama. Kroz rad opisan je razvoj bežičnih lokalnih mreža od samih početaka iz 1997. godine pa sve do zadnjeg službeno objavljenog amandmana iz 2013. godine. Prikazan je razvoj maksimalne brzine prijenosa podataka, sigurnosti mreža kroz godine, postupci kodiranja podataka, kvaliteta usluge te razne prednosti i nedostaci svakog amandmana.
Abstract (english)
IEEE 802.11 technologies are used in local networks for achieving transmission speeds in the range of several tens through several hundreds of Mbit/s up to several Gbit/s. Through the work I described the development of wireless local area network since the beginning in 1997 until the last officially published amendment in 2013. The development of the maximum data transmission speed is shown through the years, security network, methods of coding data, quality of service, and a variety of advantages and disadvantages of each amendment.
