Abstract	Krležin ciklus Legende, objavljen 1933., sastoji se od šest dramskih tekstova koji grade simbolički, fantastični i ambivalentni svijet. Zahvaljujući njihovom nadžanrovskom karakteru i poetskom pluralizmu ovi tekstovi još uvijek predstavljaju izazovan poligon za književnu analizu. Na temelju teorijskog okvira izloženog u dva kapitalna djela Mihaila Bahtina – Stvaralaštvo Françoisa Rabelaisa i narodna kultura srednjeg vijeka i renesanse te Problemi poetike Dostojevskog – ovim se radom namjerava istražiti karnevaleskni sloj Legendi. Analiza će se usredotočiti na tri teksta koja nedvojbeno obiluju elementima karnevala, a to su Kraljevo, Adam i Eva te Maskerata. Valja naglasiti da analiza ovih drama ne će obuhvaćati samo površinski sloj karnevalizacije koji uključuje motive iz kataloga pučke karnevalske tradicije, topose kao što su mundus inervsus te memento mori, elemente žanrova narodne smjehovne kulture, groteskne opise i hedonističku atmosferu, već će također ponuditi i dubinski osvrt na izabrane drame. Pritom će se sagledati žanrovske odlike ovih triju drama kroz prizmu Bahtinove ideje karnevalizacije kao načina formiranja književne vizije. To podrazumijeva promatranje kompozicija ovih avangardnih tekstova izvan okvira njihovog sadržaja i proučavanje strategija unošenja izraza Krležine socijalne kritike, dedogmatizacije, propitivanja ključnih životnih pitanja, narušavanja ideje o arhetipovima te izrugivanje ustaljenih poredaka. Ovim radom želi se pokazati u kojoj mjeri mladenačke drame Miroslava Krleže posjeduju ono što se podrazumijeva elementima karnevalizacije.
Abstract (english)	Published in 1933, Miroslav Krleža's Legends collection consists of six plays rooted in fantasy, ambivalence, and symbolism. These texts are still considered relevant and theoretically challenging due to their supra-generic character and poetic pluralism. This master's thesis draws its theoretical framework from Mikhail Bakhtin's literary theory of carnivalesque that was formulated in Rabelais and His World, and further developed in Dostoevsky's Poetics. Based on Bakhtin's conclusions, this literary analysis plans to shed light on various aspects of the carnivalesque in the three plays chosen from this collection that abound in carnival characteristics, namely – Kraljevo, Masquerade, and Adam and Eve. The first level of analysis includes surface elements of carnivalesque such as motifs from the catalog of folk carnival tradition, illustrations of mundus inervsus and memento mori, elements of genres of folk laughter culture, grotesque descriptions, and hedonistic atmosphere. The next level of analysis focuses on an in-depth analysis of carnivalesque, which entails employing the carnivalesque strategies in the formation of the artistic vision within a genre. Furthermore, this also requires examination of how the plays are imbued with instances of social criticism, dedogmatisation, existential dilemmas, archetypal violations, and the reversal of the established order. This paper seeks to determine the extent to which Miroslav Krleža's juvenile plays possess features of what is considered the elements of carnivalization.
