Abstract
U ovom radu je prikazan IPv.6 protokol. Od motivacije za uvođenje i razvijanje IPv.6 protokola pa sve do njegove upotrebe prikazane su karakteristike protokola te njegove razlike u odnosu na IPv.4 protokol. Budući da je razvojem IPv.6 protokola razvijen i ICMPv.6 protokol ovaj rad sadrži prikaz ICMPv.6 protokola, njegovih poruka te formata tih poruka. Isto tako prikazani su mogući mehanizmi za postepeno uvođenje tog protokola u upotrebu te kolika je njegova trenutna rasprostranjenost u odnosu na IPv.4 protokol. Na samom kraju, u praktičnom dijelu rada, prikazana je konfiguracija IPv.6 protokola na Windows XP operacijskom sustavu te analiza ICMPv.6 poruka.
