Abstract
Cilj ovog završnog rada jest prikazati različite operativne sustave kroz količinu generiranog podatkovnog prometa. Operativni sustavi se razlikuju u mnogim značajkama, pa tako i po ostvarenju prometa prilikom korištenja jednakih aplikativnih rješenja. Svaki terminalni uređaj za spajanje na mrežu koristi operativni sustav. Različiti operativni sustavi ne generiraju jednaku količinu podatkovnog prometa. Nadalje, istraživanja pokazuju kako se količina generiranog prometa povećava iz godine u godinu. Ovaj rad prikazuje razlike operativnih sustava i njihova obilježja pri generiranju prometa. Osim prikazanih testiranja od strane stručnih timova iz raznih telekomunikacijskih tvrtki, prikazana su i vlastita koristeći bežičnu mrežu Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity), treću generaciju mreža UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System) i četvrtu generaciju mreža LTE (Long Term Evolution) pri reproduciranju istog videozapisa na YouTubeu. Naknadno su rezultati analizirani i napravljena je usporedba generiranja podatkovnog prometa različitih operativnih sustava.
Abstract (english)
The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to show different operating systems through the amount of generated data traffic. Operating systems are different in many things which includes the amount of generated traffic while using the same application solutions. Each terminal device uses operating system to connect to the Internet. Various operating systems do not generate the same amount of data traffic. Moreover, research shows that the amount of generated data traffic increases year by year. This thesis shows diversity of operating systems and their features in generating traffic. Besides the analysis presented by expert teams from various telecommunication companies, they are also presented by my own using the Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity), UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System) and LTE (Long Terminal Evolution) while playing the same YouTube video. Subsequent results were analyzed and comparison of the generation of data traffic of different operating systems was made.
