Abstract
Diplomski rad bavi se formacijom nove stranke iz poprišta protestnog društvenog pokreta u Sloveniji, koji je trajao krajem 2012 i početkom 2013 godine. Pokušava se naći motivacije i identificirati mehanizmi koji su pridonijeli formaciji nove političke koalicije Združena Levica, koja je na izborima 2014 godine ušla u Slovenski parlament, tek godinu dana nakon toga što je stvorena. U teoretičkoj osnovi rad je usidren u literaturi o formaciji političkih stranaka, te u teoriji društvenih pokreta, koju kombinira s pristupom „political opportunity structure“. Rad za identifikaciju mehanizama i motivacija koristi pregled sekundarne literature the polu-strukturirane intervjue sa sudionicima u stranci, te vanjskim promatračima. .
Abstract (english)
United Left: How a Protest Movement Became a Political Party The thesis deals with the formation of a new political party, which sprang out of the protesting social movement in post Uprising Slovenia, after the Uprisings of late 2012, early 2013. The goal of the thesis is to find motivations and t identify the mechanisms involved in the formation of the new political coalition the United Left, which compted in the 2014 elections and made it to the Slovene parliament, only a year after its formation. The thesis is based in the literature on the formation of political parties, as in the social movement theory, which are combined with the approach of the „political opportunity structure“. The thesis utilizes the secondary literature review in the combination with semi-structured interviews with participants, and observers, in order to address the motivations and mechanisms behind the formation of the new political party..
