The Intensive Care Unit of Newborns performs fast and effective treatment to maintain newborns alive. The stated goals for the entire health care staff, as well as nurses/technicians, require a high level of knowledge and skills of the equipment and handling with equipment, maintenance interventions and the use of therapy according to the personality of the condition for which the infant is placed in the intensive care unit. In order to provide complete care for newborns, nurses/technicians must be further trained. Therefore, the question arises of whether the nurses/technicians have sufficient knowledge of college education, or is there a difference in the level of knowledge between the individual years of study? An anonymous questionnaire was conducted for the purpose of the survey. The aim of the research work on "Intensive care of a newborn" is to check the knowledge of students on this subject. In accordance with the research goal hypotheses have been put in place: 1. 3th year students have more knowledge of intensive care of a newborn than 1st and 2nd students, 2. 2nd year students have more knowledge about intensive care of a newborn than the students 1st and 3rd year, and 3. 1st year students have more knowledge about intensive care of a newborn than the 2nd and 3rd year students. The examination included students of the first, second and third year of undergraduate study of nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences in Rijeka. The survey consists of 15 questions with the possibility of multiple responses, the obtained data are used only for the purpose of final work.
