The purpose of this thesis is to question the good and bad sides of social networks among the population. It's already widely known that younger generations use social networks in an intense measure, but this use is also prevalent among adults and older generations. This new technology has changed society, and especially the way we communicate with each other. This has had a major impact on children, teenagers and young adults who have been raised with these technologies. In the first part of the thesis, the term of social network is introduced, as well as it´s prevalence over the world. A part is dedicated to relevant and less relevant social networks, habbits of social networks usage in the wider population, with a purpose of researching if and how much they influence life, daily routines and decision making. In the second part, the focus is on authors' survey, which will give the answer to the quantity and reasons for internet and social networks use. Is it socially required of us to own smart phones, smart watches, smart televisions and is life easier in modern world? This research will show some specific data, shown graphically and later explained.
