The final paper on the topic of cystic fibrosis and nursing was written in connection with a course called Child Health Care, and is held during the second year of full-time nursing studies. The first part of the final paper contains a general part containing the history of the discovery of cystic fibrosis, the genetic background of cystic fibrosis, the clinical part and health care of a child with cystic fibrosis, which also includes a holistic approach to the child and family. The second part of the paper contains research conducted at the Faculty of Health Studies in Rijeka. The study involved first, second, and third-year undergraduate nursing students by completing an anonymous survey through the Google Forms online page. The aim of the study was to examine students' knowledge of cystic fibrosis. The study involved 82 students, 25 from the first year, 28 from the second year and 29 students from the third year. The research confirmed two hypotheses stating that third-year students will have a better knowledge of cystic fibrosis than first- and second-year students, and that female students will have a better knowledge of cystic fibrosis than male students. Out of 82 full-time nursing students, 98.78% graduated from medical high school.
