Abstract
Anksioznost i depresija pojmovi su iz psihijatrije, grane medicine koja je posebno usredotočena na dušu, a svrha joj je da proučava, sprječava i liječi mentalne poremećaje u ljudi. Anksioznost i depresija spadaju pod grupu poremećaja emocija i raspoloženja. Dok se anksioznost pojavljuje u zamišljenim ili stvarnim opasnostima izazvane vanjskom opasnošću, dio je stresne reakcije kojoj je cilj pripremiti osobu za borbu ili bijeg, a ima i obrambenu funkciju, depresija se pojavljuje kao odgovor na gubitak ili nesreću. One se mogu pojaviti u svim dobnim skupinama i na različite se načine manifestirati. Ovaj rad ima za cilj istražiti stavove studenata o njihovoj incidenciji kod osoba starije životne dobi, odnosno konkretnije kod osoba koje su smještene u domovima za starije i nemoćne. Nije strano da je depresija najčešći psihički poremećaj u starosti, a zabrinjava najviše zbog mogućnosti suicida.
Abstract (english)
Anxiety and depression are concepts from psychiatry, a branch of medicine that is particulary focused on the soul and its purpose is to study, prevent and cure mental disorders in humans. Anxiety and depression fall under the group of emotional and mood disorders. While anxiety occurs in conceives or actual dangers posed by external danger, it is part of a stress response aimed at preparing a person for a fight or escape and has defensive funtion, and depression appears in response to loss or misfortune. They can appear in all age groups and manifest in different ways. The purpose of this paper is to investigate students´attitudes about their incidence in older persons, or more specifically, in people living in homes for the eldery and infirm. It is not surprising that depression is the most common mental disorder in the old age and it is more concerned about the possibility of suicide.
