Immunization is the biggest medical achievement in history. We live in a world in which migrations are often and speed of movement is bigger than ever before. In such a world it’s easy to reactivate diseases which were defeated or eradicated in Europe. It’s impossible to emphasize enough the importance of immunization in disease prevention. The analyzed data showed that presence of disease against which the vaccination was introduced has been reduced to the negligible level. These diseases were not eliminated, they were only suppressed. Collective immunity is the responsibility of us all. One irresponsible individual can jeopardize the society. Vaccination is, because of that, required by law. Disease incidence is drastically lower with adherence to the vaccination calendar. It has been proven that the decline in population proliferation can lead to rise of infected with diseases which were once suppressed. The responsibility for the education of the population is shared by the experts and the media alike. The experts should be more straightforward, more transparent while the media should be much more critical to the arguments of the antivaccination movement.
