Abstract	Ovaj rad se bavi problemom torzije ravnih štapova neokruglog poprečnog presjeka, uključujući tankostijene zatvorene i tankostijene otvorene poprečne presjeke te Prandtlovu membransku analogiju. U prvom dijelu rada je opisan teoretski dio problema uz izvode potrebnih formula i izraza, a u drugom dijelu su praktični primjeri. Uz ostale riješene primjere, provedena je i komparativna numerička analiza poprečnih presjeka istih vanjskih dimenzija i oblika, varirajući od pravokutnog punog do tankostijenog zatvorenog i otvorenog poprečnog presjeka. Utvrđeno je da tankostijeni otvoreni poprečni presjek ima izrazito malu torzijsku krutost i čvrstoću, te ne spada u logičan odabir presjeka kod konstrukcija opterećenih torzijom.
