Due to rapid urbanization, the development of traffic infrastructure and other natural influences, the risk of rockslides and hazard on people and various material goods are starting to grow bigger. Rockslides along the slopes occur due to unfavorable characteristics of rock mass combined with different types of precipitation and other various influences. The ways of protecting slopes and repairing rockslides have represented one of the key problems in geotechnical engineering in the past few years. Geostatic analyses are conducted on the slopes with the estimated danger of rockslides, on the basis of which the manner of stabilization and protecting slopes is determined. The two approaches to this type of problem which are most commonly applied in practice are: a) stabilization measures such as shotcrete and rock anchors for support unstable parts of the slope and b) protective measures such as barriers, ditches and rock sheds for protection of running rock masses. This thesis elaborates on the previously mentioned approaches. Writing a thesis related to this specific field also requires basic knowledge of rock mechanics. Therefore this thesis further deals with rock mass as a material and the instabilities related to it. The final part of the thesis is comprised of a study on the one slope profile, i.e. deals with the results of analysis, which are applied in practice, i.e. in slope repair projects.
