Abstract
Ciljevi ovog istraživanja bili su ispitati odnos perfekcionizma, perfekcionističke samoprezentacije i socijalne anksioznosti, utvrditi postoji li razlika između neperfekcionista i perfekcionista u socijalnoj anksioznosti te može li se socijalna anksioznost predvidjeti na temelju osobina kao što su perfekcionizam i perfekcionistička samoprezentacija. U istraţivanju je sudjelovalo 300 studenata s više hrvatskih sveučilišta na kojima su primijenjeni sljedeći instrumenti: Upitnik perfekcionizma, Ljestvica perfekcionističke samoprezentacije i Ljestvica anksioznosti u socijalnim interakcijama. Rezultati pokazuju da negativni perfekcionisti iskazuju značajno više razine socijalne anksioznosti od pozitivnih perfekcionista i neperfekcionista. Provedbom hijerahijske regresijske analize dobiveno je da perfekcionizam i perfekcionistička samoprezentacija značajno predviĎaju socijalnu anksioznost, odnosno svaka od ove dvije osobine samostalno objašnjava varijancu socijalne anksioznosti. Perfekcionističke težnje predviđaju nižu socijalnu anksioznost, a perfekcionističke brige, nepokazivanje nesavršenosti i prikrivanje nesavršenosti predviđaju višu socijalnu anksioznost. Važnim nalazom smatramo rezultat da perfekcionistička samoprezentacija značajno predviđa socijalnu anksioznost i iznad varijance objašnjene perfekcionizmom.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between perfectionism, perfectionistic self-presentation and social anxiety. To do that, we examined whether there are any differences between positive and negative perfectionists and non-perfectionists on social anxiety measure, as well as are perfectionism and perfectionistic self-presentation predictors of social anxiety. The sample of 300 Croatian university students filled Perfectionism Questionnaire, Perfectionisitc Self-presentation Scale and Social Interaction Anxiety Scale. The results show that negative perfectionists are significantly more socially anxious than positive perfectionists and non-perfectionists. Hierarhical regression analyses showed that, perfectionism and perfectionistic self-presentation are significant predictors of social anxiety, moreover both perfectionism and perfectionistic self-presentation are unique predictors of social anxiety. More specifically, perfectionism strivings predict lower social anxiety but perfectionistic concerns, nondisplay of imperfection and nondisclosure of imperfection predict higher social anxiety. Perfectionistic self-presentation explains additional amount of variance over and above perfectionism which we consider as an important finding.
