Abstract (english) The study involved 116 respondents aged 25 to 68 who are recreational tennis. The research was conducted according to the Campbell questionnaire. Respondents were divided according to age and gender groups. Within the gender group, we distinguish between male and female respondents, while within the age group, respondents are divided as follows: persons older than 25 and younger than 40 are placed in the younger age group, and persons older than 40 and further belong to the middle age group . Differences in the motivation of respondents in recreational tennis were examined with regard to age, gender and a combination of these two categories. The results of multivariate two-factor analysis of variance showed that there is a statistically significant difference in motives for recreational tennis with respect to gender because p <0.05, while the differences related to age and age-sex interaction are statistically insignificant. Previous research has also shown, as in this paper, that there are differences in motivation in sports according to gender. Other studies confirmed the difference between age and the interaction of age and gender, which was missing in this study, so we can say that the respondents play tennis recreationally for the same motives. This research also shows that tennis is a good recreational sport, which is confirmed by previous research that indicates a positive impact of recreational tennis on health.
