Abstract
Košarka je momčadski sport s loptom u kojem se natječu dvije ekipe od po pet igrača u svakoj ekipi. Može se igrati na otvorenom i u zatvorenom prostoru na betonu i parketu, a u zadnje su vrijeme popularne košarka na pijesku i u vodi. Košarka kao sportska grana, od kraja četrdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća do danas, vrlo je popularna u svijetu pa tako i u Hrvatskoj. U istočnoj Hrvatskoj veliku je popularnost stekla sedamdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća. Kroz povijest, košarka se u Slavoniji progresivno razvijala kroz brojne strukturalne i organizacijske promjene. Osnovana su košarkaška društva, razni savezi košarkaša Osječko-baranjske županije, od kojih je najvažniji i najpoznatiji Košarkaški savez Osječko-baranjske županije. Unutar Košarkaškog saveza Osječko-baranjske županije osnivaju se klubovi, škole košarke, košarkaški Savez Grada Osijeka, udruga košarkaških trenera i udruga košarkaških sudaca.
Abstract (english)
Basketball is a team ball sport in which two teams of five players in each team compete. It can be played outdoors and indoors on concrete and parquet, and lately basketball on the sand and in the water have been popular. Basketball, as a sports branch, has been very popular in the world and in Croatia since the late 1940s. In the Eastern Croatia it gained great popularity in the 1970s. Throughout history, basketball in Slavonia has progressively evolved through numerous structural and organizational changes. Basketball societies have been established, various associations of basketball players of the Osijek-Baranja County, the most important and the most famous being the Basketball Association of Osijek-Baranja County. Within the Basketball Federation of Osijek-Baranja County, clubs, basketball schools, the Basketball Federation of the City of Osijek, basketball coaches associations and basketball referees associations are established.
