Abstract
Rekurentni aftozni stomatitis je najčešća upalno-ulcerativna bolest oralne sluznice karakterizirana jasno ograničeni, bolnim, ponavljajućim ulceracijama koje su okruglog ili ovalnog oblika s uzdignutim upalnim eritematoznim okružjem. Dno je žućkastobijele boje. Svrha ovog rada je prikazati aktualna saznanja o etiologiji, patogenezi, dijagnostici i liječenju rekurentnog aftoznog stomatitisa. Etiologija je nepoznata s mnogobrojnim predispozicijskim čimbenicima kao što su genetika, stres, traume, hematološki deficiti, prestanak pušenja, sustavne bolesti, lijekovi. Osnovna terapija se temelji na olakšavanju boli i smanjivanju nelagode primjenom lokalnih anestetika, sprječavanju sekundarne infekcije antisepticima te na primjeni protuupalnih kortikosteroida. Ni jedna poznata terapija ne sprječava ponovno javljanje lezija. Dijagnostika se temelji na detaljnoj medicinskoj anamnezi, kliničkom pregledu i isključivanju ostalih kliničkih stanja. Ovisno o postojećoj simptomatologiji terapeut može procijeniti o potrebi dodatnih hematoloških, gastrointestinalnih ili alergoloških pretraga.
Abstract (english)
Recurrent aphthous stomatitis is the most common inflammatory-ulcerative oral mucosal disease characterized by clearly limited, painful, recurrent ulcerations that are round or oval with elevated inflammatory erythematous borders. The bottom is yellowish-white. The purpose of this thesis is to present the current knowledge on etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of recurrent aphthous stomatitis. Etiology remains unknown with many predisposing factors such as genetics, stress, trauma, haematological deficits, smoking cessation, systemic diseases and drugs. Basic therapy is based on pain relief and reduction of discomfort by using local anesthetics, preventing secondary infections with antiseptics, and using anti-inflammatory corticosteroids. No known therapy prevents the re-occurrence of lesions. Diagnostics is based on detailed medical history, clinical examination, and exclusion of other clinical conditions. Depending on the existing symptomatology, the therapist may assess the need for additional haematological, gastrointestinal or allergological examinations
