Abstract
Nakon provedene endodontske terapije potrebno je zubu osigurati primjerenu restauraciju, međutim to u velikom broju slučajeva nije moguće zbog opsežnog gubitka tvrdih zubnih tkiva. Za nadoknadu izgubljenog tkiva metoda izbora je postava intrakanalnog retentivnog elementa uz nadoknadu jezgre zuba. U kliničkoj primjeni postoji širok spektar materijala za izradu intrakanalnih retentivnih elemenata kao i velik izbor materijala za rekonstrukciju jezgre zuba i cemenata za učvršćivanje intrakalnihh retentivnih elemenata u korijenskom kanalu. Postavom intrakanalne retencije ostvaruje se temeljna restauracija zuba koja osigurava dobro koronarno brtvljenje korijenskog kanala te osigurava retenciju za konačnu restauraciju u vidu krunice. Međutim, postava intrakanalne retencije ima i negativan učinak na korijen zbog nepovoljnog načina prijenosa okluzijskih sila i dodatnog uklanjanja dentina što dugoročno rezultira vertikalnom frakturom. Dugotrajnost restauracije kao i samog zuba uvelike ovisi o pravilnom odabiru materijala za izradu temeljne restauracije ovisno o kliničkoj situaciji
Abstract (english)
After endodontic treatment it is neccessary to restore the tooth properprly, this, howerer, it is not always possible due to substantial loss of hard dental tissues. To compensate the loss of tissue cementing a post and core is the preferable method of restoration. In clinical practice there is a wide array of matherials used to fabricate intracanal post, such as a wide choice of core materials and cements for post cementation int he root canal. Placing a post and core not only increases the retentive surface oft he remaining tooth structure but also provides a good coronal seal oft he root canal. Despite this, post placement has a negative effect on the root canal because of the way occlusal forces are transfered by it and the fact that it recquires additional removal of dentine. Which in longterm results in vertical fracture oft he root. The longevity oft he restoration as well as the longevity of the tooth greatly depend on proper material selection according to each clinical situation
