Abstract
Upala pluća jedna je od najčešćih teških infekcija u djece. Učestali je uzrok morbiditeta i hospitalizacija u razvijenim zemljama. Pojavljuje se u svim dobnim skupinama i uzrokovana je brojnim i različitim mikroorganizmima. U djece se upala pluća očituje različitim simptomima i kliničkim oblicima. Ispravnu i brzu etiološku dijagnostiku teško je postaviti jer klinički, laboratorijski i radiološki nalazi nisu u tom smislu specifični. Upravo zato se i liječenje oslanja na empiriju, temeljeno na poznavanju uzročnika u pojedinim dobnim skupinama, i na procjenu kliničke težine bolesti. Da bi se ujednačili dijagnostički i terapijski postupci, neke su zemlje izradile nacionalne smjernice.
Abstract (english)
Pneumonia is one of the most common serious infections among children. It is a frequent cause of morbidity and hospitalization in developed countries. It occurs in all age groups and is caused by various microorganisms. Pneumonia in children presents with a variety of smptoms and clinical manifestations. It is difficult to make an exact and ethiologic diagnosis because signs and symptoms of pneumonia are often nonspecific and laboratory and radiological findings widely vary. Therefore the managment is mainly empirical, based on clinical suspicion of a particular offending agent depending on the child's age. In order to solve the problems of diagnosis and treatment of pneumonia in children, some countries have published official national guidelines.
