Abstract	U ovom radu, nastoji se usporediti aeracijske sustave na temelju nekoliko karakteristika: učinkovitost aeracije, kapitalni i operativni troškovi, potencijalna opasnost od zaraze, osjetljivost na vanjske utjecaje. Aeratori s poroznim difuzorima najmanje raspršuju mikroorganizme u zrak te imaju najveću učinkovitost aeracije u usporedbi s ostalim aeracijskim sustavima. S druge strane, ovi sustavi su najskuplji te najzahtjevniji kod održavanja. Prednost mehaničkih aeratora je njihova velika sposobnost miješanja te jednostavnost pri radu. Također, utjecaj površinski aktivnih tvari na rad mehaničkih sustava neznatan je u usporedbi s dubinskim aeratorima. Neophodan je daljnji razvoj obje skupine aeratora te kombiniranih sustava. Pored klasičnih tipova aeratora, znanstvenici razvijaju i nove tehnologije, koje bi s vremenom trebale postati cjenovno dostupnije za industrijsku primjenu.
Abstract (english)	In this paper, attempts are made to compare aeration systems based on several different characteristics: aeration efficiency, capital and operating costs, potential risks of infection, sensitivity to other factors. Fine pore aeration systems produce the least bioaerosols and have the biggest aeration efficiency compared to other aeration systems. On the other hand, these systems are the most expensive and require high-maintenance. The advantage of mechanical aerators is their mixing capability and the fact that they are easy to operate. Also, surfactant effects on mechanical aerator performance is negligible compared to diffused aeration systems. Further development of both groups of aeration systems and combined systems is essential. Besides classic types of aeration systems, scientists are developing new technologies, which should become, in time, more affordable for an industrial application.
