Abstract
Aronia melanocarpa je voće bogato fenolnim spojevima - uglavnom flavonoidima iz podrazreda antocijana. Antocijani su u vodi topljivi biljni pigmenti s antioksidacijskim, protuupalnim, antimikrobnim, hepatoprotektivnim i gastroprotektivnim svojstvima. Proučavali smo učinak praha A. melanocarpa (PAM) u miša sa 2%-tnim kolesterolom izazvanom hiperkolesterolemijom. PAM (1 g/kg/dan) je primjenjen oralno. Malondialdehid (MDA), superoxide dismutaza (SOD), reducirani glutation (GSH) i oksidirani glutation (GSSG) određeni su u jetri miša i korišteni kao biokemijski markeri oksidacijskog stresa. Primjena kolesterola izazvala je lipidnu peroksidaciju u jetri (izmjereno preko malondialdehida - MDA) i iscrpljivanje reduciranog glutationa (GSH). U usporedbi s kontrolom, SOD i GSH znatno su povećani (p <0,05) u grupi miševa koji su tretirani sa prahom aronije.
Abstract (english)
Aronia melanocarpa fruits are rich in phenolic substances—mainly flavonoids from the anthocyanin subclass. The anthocyanins are water-soluble plant pigments with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, hepatoprotective, gastroprotective and other activities. We studied the effect of A. melanocarpa powder (PAM) on on 2% cholesterol induced hypercholesterolemia in mice. PAM (1 g/kg/day) was applied orally. Malondialdehyde (MDA), supeoxide dismutase and also reduced glutathione (GSH) and oxidized glutathione (GSSG) in mouse liver were determined and used as biochemical markers of the oxidative status. The administration of cholesterol increased liver lipid peroxidation (as measured by malondialdehyde - MDA) and caused a depletion of liver reduced glutathione (GSH). Compared with the control, SOD and GSH were significantly increased (p <0.05) in the group of mice treated with powder chokeberry.
