Abstract
Bakterije mliječne kiseline (BMK) široko su rasprostranjene i mogu se pronaći u različitim ekosustavima. Sastavni su dio mikroflore ljudi i životinja, uključujući i morske organizme. U ribljoj industriji u posljednje je vrijeme sve veći naglasak na primjeni probiotika, kao zamjena za dosadašnje konvencionalne metode zaštite morskih životinja. BMK izolirane iz morskog okoliša puno su bolji kandidati za primjenu kao probiotici u akvakulturi u odnosu na sojeve animalnog ili humanog porijekla jer su već adaptirane na navedenu sredinu. Budući da je gastrointestinalni trakt (GIT) životinja najbogatiji mikroorganizmima, cilj ovog rad bila je identifikacija mikrobne populacije GIT-a hlapa i škampa, uključujući i ispitivanje prisutnosti BMK. Rezultati su pokazali prisutnost nekoliko bakterijskih skupina i kvasaca, dok BMK nisu izolirane iz niti jednog od uzorka.
Abstract (english)
Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are widely spread and can be found in different ekosystems. They are an integral part of the human and animal microflora, also including aquatic organisms. Lately, in fish industry has been an increasing emphasis on the use of probiotics, as a replacement for current conventional methods for protection of marine animals. LAB isolated from marine environment are much better candidates for use as aquaculture probiotics compared to strains of animal or human origin, due to their better adaptation to specific environment. Since the gastrointestinal tract (GI tract) of animals is the richest in microorganisms, the aim of this study was to identify the microbial population of GI tract of lobster and shrimps, including testing for the presence of LAB. Results showed presence of several bacterial groups and yeasts, while LAB were not isolated from any of the samples.
