Abstract
Mikroorganizmi koje možemo pronaći u buragu spadaju u četiri skupine: bakterije, protozoa, gljivice i Archaea. Bakterije i gljivice su najbrojnija skupina mikroorganizama i čine 40-60% ukupnog broja mase mikroorganizama u buragu. Oni se mogu podijeliti u nekoliko funcionalnih skupina: fibrolitičku, amilolitičku, proteolitičku. Protozoa uzimaju hranjive tvari fagocitozom. Iako protozoa nisu esencijalno važni za funkcioniranje buraga, njihovo prisustvo ima izražen utjecaj. Gljivice buraga čine 5-10% mikropopulacije, a ima ih jako malo prilikom hranidbe siromašne vlakninom. Unatoč njihovom broju gljivice imaju važnu ulogu kod hidroliziranja esterskih veza između lignina i hemiceluloze ili celuloze što pomaže razgradnji čestica hrane. Archeae čine oko 3% mikropopulacije buraga. Vodik koji ostale skupine mikroorganizama proizvode Archaea koriste za redukciju ugljikovog dioksida u metan. Održavanje niskog parcijalnog pritiska vodika pomoću metanogena životno je važno za pravilno funkcioniranje buraga. Mikroorganizmi otječu iz buraga dalje u probavni sustav i tada oni postaju izvor hranjivih tvari za preživača.
Abstract (english)
Microorganisms found in rumen can be divided in four groups: bacteria, protozoa, fungi and Archaea. Bacteria and protozoa are predominant groups of microorganisms and make 40-60% of total microbial mass in rumen. They can be categorized into few functional groups: fibrolytic, amylolytic and proteolytic. Protozoa digest food particles by fagocytosis. Even though protozoa aren't essentially important for rumen functioning, their presence have pronounced effects. Fungi make 5-10% of microbe population and are absent when low fibre diets are fed. Despite their low numbers, fungi have important role in hydrolysing esther bonds between lignine and hemicellulose or cellulose which helps degradation of food particles. Archaea make 3% of total micropopulatin of the rumen. Other groups of microorganisms produce hydrogen that Archaea use for reduction of CO2 in CH4. The maintenance of low pressure of hydrogen by methanogens is essential for proper functioning of the rumen. Eventually, microorganisms leave rumen with flow of rumen fluid and become major source of amino acids for ruminant.
