Abstract
Škotski ovčar spada u skupinu I ovčarski i stočarski psi. Iako je nekada korišten isključivo za pastirske poslove, danas je omiljeni kučni ljubimac. Ova pasmina je snaţne konstitucije i vrlo je okretan. Ima bademaste, tamne oči i šiljaste, polupoklopljene uši.Visina škotskog ovčara do grebena iznosi 55 – 60 cm. za muţjake i 50 – 55 cm. za ţenke. Vrlo je njeţan i ponaša se zaštitnički. TakoĎer je vrlo pametan. U hrvatskoj su priznate tr nijanse krzna ove pasmine, a to su sable,trikolor i blue merle. U americi je takoĎer priznata i bijela boja. Dlaka škotskog ovčara treba paţnje ali nije komplicirana i previše zahtijevna za odrţavanje. Potrebno je svakodnevno češljanje. Ova pasmina je dosta otporna na bolesti. Snaţnom imunitetu pridonosi i prehrana, stoga treba osigurati pravilnu ishranu psa. Psa je potrebno redovito cijepiti i očistiti od parazita.
Abstract (english)
Schottische Collie belongs to the first group - sheep and herding dogs. Although it was once used exclusively for pastoral work, today he is popular pet. This breed is strong and very agile. It has almond shaped, dark eyes and pointed ears. Collie height is 55-60 cm. for males and 50 to 55 cm. for females. It is very gentle and protective. It is also very inteligent. In Croatia are recognized three shades of coat of the breed, such as sable, tricolor and blue merle. In America white color is also recognized. The fur needs attention but it is not complicated and too demanding for maintenance. It takes daily combing. This breed is quite resistant to diseases. Nutrition helps to build immunity ,therefore you should ensure proper nutrition for the dog. The dog must be regularly vaccinated and cleaned of parasites.
