Abstract
Razvoj i primjena informacijske komunikacijske tehnologije (ICT) u posljednjih pedesetak godina utjecali su na velike promjene u društvu. Dogodila se transformacija iz industrijskog u informacijsko društvo i taj se proces nastavlja prelaskom u društvo temeljeno na znanju. U takvom društvu gospodarstvo i kvaliteta života pojedinaca ovise o znanju, odnosno o iznalaženju, obradi i primjeni informacija. Posljedica tome je da potrebna količina ljudskog znanja neprekidno raste, a to nameće potrebu da pojedinci u kratkom vremenu stječu sve veći opseg i kvalitetu znanja. Tradicionalni pristup obrazovanju neće biti u stanju zadovoljiti narasle potrebe. Danas se može s priličnom sigurnošću očekivati da će u sljedećih desetak godina primjena ICT-a temeljito promijeniti procese stjecanja znanja. Zbog toga primjena ICT-a u procesu obrazovanja predstavlja stratešku odrednicu koja će bitno utjecati na budući razvoj gospodarstva i društva u cjelini, a posebno na status obrazovnih ustanova. Sve navedeno na poseban način će se prikazati kroz programske obrazovne pakete, napose kroz Seagull Maritime obrazovni program.
Abstract (english)
The transformation from an industrial society to an information society that began 40 years ago, continues with the transformation to the knowledge - based economy and society. In this society the economy, work and life depend on knowledge, i.e. on finding, analysing and applying information. For this reason the total amount of human knowledge is constantly growing, and the individual is faced with the necessity to acquire more knowledge in a shorter time segment. The application of information technology, which has until now directly influenced the transformation of the society, will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the education process as well. The Croatian education system should accelerate the activities needed to participate in this process. All of the above will be presented in a special way through the educational packages, especially through the Seagull Maritime education program. Keywords:
