Abstract	U ovom je diplomskom radu provedena kvalitativna i kvantitativna analiza polifenolnih tvari u nadzemnim dijelovima vrsta Stachys iva Griseb. i S. horvaticii Micevski (Lamiaceae). Prisutnost polifenolnih tvari dokazana je općim reakcijama stvaranja obojenih produkata ili taloga. Kvantitativna analiza ukupnih polifenola (UP), trjeslovina (T), flavonoida (F) i fenolnih kiselina (FK) provedena je spektrofotometrijskim metodama. Sadržaj analiziranih polifenolnih tvari za vrstu Stachys iva iznosio je: 6,03±0,03% (UP); 1,70±0,01% (T); 0,15±0,00% (F) i 1,65±0,02% (FK), a za vrstu S. horvaticii: 3,80±0,02% (UP); 0,78±0,03% (T); 0,43±0,00% (F) i 0,74±0,01% (FK). Vrsta Stachys iva imala je dvostruko više ukupnih polifenola, trjeslovina i fenolnih kiselina od vrste S. horvaticii, dok je u vrste S. horvaticii izmjereno više flavonoida. Provedena fitokemijska karakterizacija predstavlja prilog znanstvenom istraživanju roda Stachys te upotpunjuje dosadašnje spoznaje o fitoterapijskom potencijalu vrsta Stachys iva Griseb. i S. horvaticii Micevski (Lamiaceae).
Abstract (english)	In this work, qualitative and quantitative analysis of polyphenols in aerial parts of Stachys iva Griseb. and S. horvaticii Micevski was carried out. The presence of polyphenols was proven by using general reactions of developing colored products and precipitates. Quantitative analyses of total polyphenols (TP), tannins (T), flavonoids (F), and phenolic acids (PA) were carried out using spectrophotometric methods. The contents of analyzed polyphenolic compounds in Stachys iva were as follows: 6.03±0.03% (UP); 1.70±0.01% (T); 0.15±0.00% (F), and 1.65±0.02% (FK), and in S. horvaticii: 3.80±0.02% (UP); 0.78±0.03% (T); 0.43±0.00% (F), and 0.74±0.01% (FK). Stachys iva had twice the total polyphenols, tannins, and phenolic acids than S. horvaticii, while S. horvaticii had more flavonoids. Performed phytochemical characterization is a contribution to the scientific study of the genus Stachys, and also contributes to the existing knowledge concerning phytotherapeutic potential of Stachys iva Griseb. and S. horvaticii Micevski (Lamiaceae).
