Abstract	Farmakognoške zbirke nastajale su u svijetu kao rezultat razvoja akademskog ljekarništva i osim u nastavi koriste se i u znanstveno-stručnom radu. Farmakognoška zbirka Zavoda za farmakognoziju Farmaceutsko-biokemijskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu jedina je zbirka takve vrste u Republici Hrvatskoj. Fundus Zbirke danas broji više od 1200 biljnih i životinjskih droga koji potječu iz svih dijelova svijeta, a značajan dio predstavlja kolekcija od stotinjak biljnih droga koja nosi naziv svog osnivača, dr. Theodora Schuchardta, koji je živio i djelovao u 19. stoljeću. U okviru ovog diplomskog rada istražene su odabrane biljne droga iz te zbirke (flos, folium, caulis, herba, lignum, cortex) koje potječu iz dalekih prekomorskih zemalja. Kroz fotografije droga u izvornim spremnicima, opise biljnih izvora, podatke o tradicionalnoj primjeni, fitokemijskom sastavu i sažet pregled dostupnih znanstvenih dokaza o farmakološkom i kliničkom djelovanju monografski je obrađeno ukupno 27 biljnih droga. Navedeni podaci objedinjeni su sa svrhom usvajanja novih stručnih znanja te prikupljanja novijih podataka o uzorcima te vrijedne kolekcije droga u okviru Farmakognoške zbirke.
Abstract (english)	Pharmacognostic collections have been established in the world due to the development of academic pharmacy and they are used for teaching purposes as well as in scientific and professional work. The Pharmacognostic collection of the Department of Pharmacognosy of Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of University of Zagreb is the unique collection of its kind in Croatia. Currently, the collection holds more than 1 200 herbal and animal drugs originating from all parts of the world. The collection of hundred herbal drugs that bear the name of its founder, Dr. Theodore Schuchardt, who lived and worked in the 19th century, represents an important part of Pharmacognostic collection. Selected herbal drugs which originate overseas and belong to this collection (flos, folium, caulis, herb, lignum, cortex) have been studied within this diploma thesis. The thesis provides photos of drugs in original containers, plant origin descriptions, ethnopharmacological data, phytochemical composition and concise overview of the available scientific evidence on effectiveness for a total of 27 herbal drugs. All these data are combined for the purpose of acquiring new professional knowledge and collecting new data on these valuable herbal drug samples within Pharmacognostic collection.
