Abstract
Kad se spominje altruizam, najučestaliji primjer jesu upravo zadružni kukci. Ekstremni altruizam koji nalazimo kod njih evoluirao je pod okriljem eusocijalnosti zbog visoke srodnosti u zadruzi te također zbog mehanizma prisile. Srodnost je bitna upravo zbog toga što se određeni gen može prenositi i pomaganjem bliskim srodnicima u odgajanju njihovih potomaka jer i oni (s određenom vjerojatnošću) nose kopije istog gena. Smatra se da je monogamija bila okidač za razvoj eusocijalnosti (a time i altruizma) dok su i ekološki uvjeti uvelike pomogli. Silom provođen altruizam također učvršćuje zadrugu te iako ima negativnu konotaciju zapravo je jedan od glavnih uzroka altruizma te pridonosi strogoj socijalnoj organizaciji.
Abstract (english)
When we mention altruism the most common example we use to describe it are eusocial insects. The extreme altruism evolved because of their way of life (eusociality), specifically because of high relatedness and the mechanism of coercion. Relatedness is important because a certain gene can be transmited by helping close kin in rearing their offspring because they (with certain probability) have copies of the same gene. Monogamy was the trigger that started the evolution of eusociality (thereby starting the evolution of altruism) with a big help of their ecology. Enforced altruism also helps the colony and even though it has a negative conotation, it is really one of the main causes of altruism and it contributes to the strict social organization.
