Abstract	Biomimetika (bios - život, i mimetikos – imitiranje) ili bionika je disciplina koja nalazi održiva tehnološka rješenja korištenjem obrazaca i strategija iz prirode koji su prošli najteže testove evolucije i vremena. Biomimetika se razlikuje od drugih bio-pristupa ciljanim promatranjem i konzultiranjem organizama i ekosustava te primjenom tako stečenih osnovnih dizajnerskih principa u menadžmentu inovacija. U radu je pružen široki pregled područja biomimetike, a primjeri biomimetike koji su detaljno obrađeni i prezentirani su sljedeći: čičak-traka (tvrtka Velcro), lotus-efekt (tvrtka STO), strukturna obojenost (tvrtka Qualcomm) i tuberkuli peraja grbavog kita (tvrtka WhalePower). Proučeni su prirodni fenomeni koji su prolaskom kroz biomimetičku spiralu dizajna i menadžment inovacije pronašli svoju tržišnu primjenu i valorizaciju.
Abstract (english)	Biomimetics (bios - life, and mimetikos - imitation) or bionics is a discipline that seeks sustainable tehnologic solutions by using the forms and strategies from nature that have passed the toughest tests of time and evolution. Biomimetics differs from other bio approaches because of the targeted observing and consulting of organisms and ecosystems and by applying those acquired fundamental design principles in the innovation management. The thesis provides a broad overview of the biomimetics field, and the examples of biomimetics, which were studied in detail and presented here are the following: Velcro (Velcro company), lotus-effect (STO company), structural coloration (company Qualcomm) and tubercules on the fins of humpback whales (WhalePower company). The study includes the natural phenomena that have passed through the biomimetics design spiral and innovation management and thus found their market application and valorisation.
