Abstract	Psorijaza je hiperproliferativna, kronična upalna bolest kože, koja se očituje pojavom multiplih eritematoskvamoznih plakova, najčešće lokaliziranih u području ekstremiteta, te na koži vlasišta. Na animalnom modelu istražili smo protuupalnu učinkovitost prirodnog antioksidansa, propolisa i njegovu mogućnost primjene u liječenju psorijaze. Za potrebe istraživanja rabili su se miševi iz uzgoja Zavoda za animalnu fiziologiju, a kao iritant za izazivanje upalne reakcije korišten je heksil-salicilat. Rezultati su pokazali da etanolna otopina propolisa smanjuje broj stanica upalnog infiltrata i broj aktiviranih makrofaga pokazujući izraziti protuupalni učinak. Mikronukleus test je dobar pokazatelj za procjenu genotoksičnih oštećenja, a rezultati su pokazali da etanolna otopina propolisa smanjuje broj mikronukleusa u retikulocitima periferne krvi miševa. Zaključeno je kako etanolna otopina propolisa sa sigurnošću može biti primijenjena u sprječavanju upalnih promjena psorijaze bez toksičnih posljedica. Termografija, kao jednostavna i jeftina metoda, pokazala je učinkovitost i primjenjivost u istraživanju procesa upale u psorijazi.
Abstract (english)	Psoriasis is a hyperproliferative chronic inflammatory skin disease manifested in multiple erythematosquamous plaques, most commonly localized in the area of extremities and the scalp. An animal model was used to examine the anti-inflammatory efficiency of propolis, a natural antioxidant, and its application in treatment of psoriasis. For research purposes, mice were bread at the Department of Animal Physiology, Faculty of Science, Zagreb University, and hexyl salicylate was used as an irritant to cause an inflammatory reaction. Results have shown that ethanol solution of propolis reduces the number of cells of inflammatory infiltrate and of active macrophages, and has a potent anti-inflammatory effect. A micronucleus test is a reliable indicator of genotoxic damage. Its results showed that ethanol solution of propolis decreases the number of micronuclei in mouse peripheral blood reticulocytes. A conclusion was made that ethanol solution of propolis can safely be utilized in the prevention of psoriasis-related inflammatory changes without causing any toxic effect. Thermography as an inexpensive and simple method has shown the effectiveness and applicability in the research process of inflammation in psoriasis.
